The technical team had a very busy June. Activities were focused primarily on the UP Aerospace's SL-7 launch and preparations leading up to it. The launch took place on June 21 at 7:57 AM, and was nearly flawless. City Incentives Kick In

Wage + (Wage Plus), a City of La Cruces economic development incentive to reward businesses for hiring and paying above median wage, went into effect Monday, July 1. The program provides a $1,500 per job reimbursement for qualifying companies that hire and train new employees for jobs paying at least 10 percent more than the county median wage, which is currently $13.85. MVEDA Partner Approved for JTIP Funding

The New Mexico Economic Development Department's Job Training Incentive Program (JTIP) Board approved $647,322.96 in funding at its June board meeting. The funding was awarded to seven companies for the training of 36 new employees. Average wage is $27.33 for the newly created jobs. The next board meeting will be July 12 in Santa Fe.
