Bill Connor, chair of the Doña Ana County Legislative Coalition (DACLC) will be the featured speaker at the January MVEDA Business in the Borderplex Forum. The coalition annually develops an agenda of legislative initiatives of importance to Southern New Mexico to be presented during the legislative session.
Conner will detail this year’s initiatives as developed by the various coalition members. The initiatives include Capital Appropriations requests on behalf of the City of Las Cruces, Doña Ana County, New Mexico State University, and Doña Ana Community College; Operational Funding to support public/secondary education and water research; and Policy Actions to support economic development and public health.
The forum will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 from 11:30 AM until 1:00 PM at the Hotel Encanto de Las Cruces, 705 S. Telshor. The meeting will begin with a hot entrée buffet followed by a brief update from MVEDA staff.
Advance registration is $20.00 per person, payable by major credit card via the secure portal on the registration form. Payment at the door with cash, check or credit card is $25.00 per person. Reservations are required. Registration closes Friday, January 2, 2015.
The MVEDA Business in the Borderplex Forums are monthly events that provide public discourse of relevant economic development issues impacting Southern New Mexico.
