The April meeting of the MVEDA Business in the Borderplex Forum will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 from 11:30 AM until 1:00 PM at the Hotel Encanto de Las Cruces, 705 S. Telshor. The meeting will begin with a hot entree buffet.
In a return to its normal meeting day of the first Tuesday of the month, the meeting will feature local commercial real estate brokers and developers addressing trends that are impacting economic development and growth in both Las Cruces and Santa Teresa. Featured speakers include Kary Bulsterbaum, Steinborn/TCN Commercial Real Estate, Jake Redfearn, NAI 1st Valley Commercial Real Estate and Gilbert Mesa, IDI (recently merged with Verde Realty).
Kary Bulsterbaum is an Associate Broker at Steinborn/TCN Commercial Real Estate and a proud member of the Grady Oxford Commercial Team. He has over 12+ years of brokerage & industry related experience. His primary focus is in the area of office & industrial having completed numerous federal, state, and local transactions related to leasing, disposition, and acquisition. He has lived in the area since 1983 and has a true passion for seeing our area grow & prosper. Being involved on the front end of a variety of development related scenarios and projects, he has a unique perspective of the communities’ opportunities and challenges overall.
Jake Redfearn specializes in retail and investment properties. He has worked with and represents national companies such as Church’s Chicken, US Bank, CVS, Denny’s, Taco Bell, GNC, Dunkin Donuts and others. Jake handles leasing responsibility for three of the largest retail centers in Las Cruces, New Mexico and participated in $20M+ in real estate transactions in 2013.Mr. Redfearn also serves as the chair of the Greater Las Cruces Chamber of Commerce Issues and Government Affairs Committee, Treasurer of the Downtown Las Cruces Partnership, member of the MVEDA Buildings and Land Use Committee and member of the Las Cruces Rotary Club.
Gilbert Mesa is Vice President of Development for IDI with responsibility for the development of IDI’s land holdings in Santa Teresa, encompassing over 3,500 acres. He joined IDI through Verde Realty in 2004. He is responsible for securing governmental approvals for land entitlements as well as for all land planning, engineering design, and construction of subdivision improvements in Santa Teresa. He is also responsible for managing IDI’s water rights portfolio and for government relations with local, state and federal officials and regulatory agencies. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Mesilla Valley Economic Development Alliance (MVEDA) and the Border Industrial Association (BIA).
