The January High Tech Consortium (HTC) of Southern New Mexico membership meeting will be held on Friday, January, 17th at the Hotel Encanto from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM.
This month’s speaker will be Ms. Cathy Swain. Ms. Swain assumed her current position as executive director of the Hub of Human Innovation and director of the Clean Energy Incubator program for the University of Texas at El Paso in July 2010. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) with broad experience through many market cycles and career achievements that bridge financial, academic, and economic development institutions, most recently with a broad network and understanding of the university/community ecosystem for innovation through research commercialization. Previously, Ms. Swain served as Assistant Vice Chancellor for Commercial Development in the UT System Office of Research and Technology Transfer. As the key contact person for UT commercialization activities System-wide, she launched and managed the Texas Ignition Fund [“Proof-of Concept”] that resulted in 23 startups in less than two years; piloted Ideas on Fire!
